Onsite Digital X-Ray

There are many reasons Dr. Mechanik may order an x-ray. And unless there is trauma, standing or weight bearing x-rays are always preferred. Whether your pain has been on-going or recent, x-rays can help rule out certain diagnosis and provide you with a more definitive answers. Having onsite digital x-rays gives Dr. Mechanik the advantage of crisp, clear, detailed images. X-rays are sometimes used to help with the following:

determine whether a bone has been fractured or
- damaged by conditions such as an infection, arthritis, or other disease.
assess whether a child's bones are growing normally,
- look at their growth plates,
locate foreign objects (such as pieces of glass or metal) in a wound.
determine whether bones are properly set after treating a fracture.

Pregnant women, especially those in their first trimester, are advised against having X-rays because the radiation may harm the unborn child.
