After receiving his doctor of Podiatric Medicine, DPM from the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in 1999, that he went on to complete a 36 month post graduate training program in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York which is affiliated with the Weil School of Medicine, Cornell University.
Upon graduating from Residency Training in 2003, Dr. Mechanik, began private practice in Ridgewood / Brooklyn, Flushing / Queens, Mineola / Huntington, Long Island and Mamaroneck , Westchester County in New York , and became a member of the Podiatric teaching faculty at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, Flushing Hospital and New York Hospital of Queens.
In the summer of 2005, Dr. Mechanik returned to Colorado, and began providing Podiatric Care at Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, Colorado. Over the next 15 years, Dr. Mechanik was honored to provide Foot and Ankle care for Active Duty Soldiers and Veterans of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, and to further Podiatric Residency Training as the Southern Coordinator for Podiatric Residency training through the Residency program at the Denver V.A.
Dr. Mechanik is dual board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, in Foot Surgery, and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. In 2018, Dr. Mechanik obtained Fellowship in Peripheral Nerve Surgery from the Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons.
Dr. Mechanik is currently, President of Region 2 of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a previous member of multiple national committees representing the American Podiatric Medical Association and previous Board Member and National Representative of the Colorado Foot & Ankle Society from 2007-2016.
Dr. Mechanik enjoys going to the gym for cardiovascular exercise, playing squash, traveling, studying U.S. History and cheering for all of the major sports teams in Colorado to include the Broncos, Avalanche, Nuggets, Rockies and CU Buffaloes.
